Oktoberfest

Ready or not, fall is quickly settling in. And with the promise of colorful vistas and cooler days, comes the excitement of seasonal celebrations. This week we are highlighting an international favorite - Oktoberfest. O’zapft is!

Vienna Oktoberfest
Saturday, October 1, 11am - 7pm
The Vienna Business Association hosts a classic Oktoberfest every year, complete with a Burgermeister and a German band. Polka dancing lessons will have you in the mood for a stein from local craft brewery, Caboose Brewing Co. A family friendly event, the kids will be entertained by activities like the velcro bouncy wall, face painting, pottery painting and more.

Oktoberfest Reston
Saturday, October 8, 12pm - 11pm
Reston Town Center’s Oktoberfest is the largest fall festival in all of Northern Virginia, you don’t want to miss the spectacle! Staying true to Oktoberfest’s roots, there will be traditional German music, dancers, food and of course, seasonal brews. Should you feel up to it the next day, there will be a Reston Pumpkin 5K and Kids’ Pumpkin Dash. Participants are encouraged to debut their Halloween costumes!

Manassas Steins, Wines and & Spirits Festival
Sunday, October 9, 12pm - 5pm
Beautiful Historic Downtown Manassas will be transformed into a stunningly unique festival hosted by The Rotary Club. A twist on the classic Oktoberfest, this one will feature drinks from local craft breweries, vineyards and distilleries to keep things interesting. The sounds of live bluegrass, jazz and blues music will fill the streets as you wander through stalls from the most popular food vendors from all over Northern Virginia.

Frederick’s Oktoberfest
Friday, September 30 - Sunday, October 2, hours vary
The E-ventplex at the Frederick Fairgrounds will be transformed into a richly traditional Oktoberfest for one full weekend. There will be Oktoberfest beers, German wines, endless amounts of bratwurst, live music, a German Heritage tent and so, so much more! If you wear a traditional dirndl or lederhosen, admission is free. The best part? This Oktoberfest focuses on cultural exchange and raises thousands of dollars for local non-profits.
