What does the term “Serviced Residences” mean?
The term "Serviced Residence" is synonymous with more commonly used terms such as serviced apartments, furnished accommodations and corporate housing. A serviced residence is a fully furnished apartment residence that includes all services – utilities, housekeeping, etc.
Why not just say “Corporate Housing”?
We believe corporate housing, in general, is a bit too “corporate” and we are out to change that mindset. That’s why you won’t find the term in our name nor our vernacular. Our goal is for our guests to feel as if they are residing, not just staying.
What’s included in a Dwel apartment?
All of our apartment residences are thoughtfully designed to be comfortable, functional and livable. Each apartment comes fully furnished and accessorized with liv by Dwel custom furnishings and housewares, including our slep by Dwel bed with a mattress handmade to our specifications.
How many guests are allowed in an apartment?
In most cases, local ordinances limit the number of guests to 2 per bedroom. A 1 bedroom is allowed 2 guests maximum; a 2 bedroom is 4 guests maximum and so on. We are able to make exceptions for children and will be glad to discuss prior to booking.
Are utilities included – water, electricity, gas, telephone, etc?
Absolutely! And the best part is we don’t have any caps on utilities. For telephone service, we always provide free local calls and US long distance service.
What about television, cable and internet?
Yep. Included. And, we take it a step further by providing Smart TVs with HD cable and DVR's. Hi-speed wireless internet is also included.
Is parking included?
Parking is included at most of our properties. However, parking is an extra charge at some of our properties in Washington, DC. Rates do vary and these will be fully disclosed prior to booking.
Is housekeeping included?
Monthly housekeeping is included for stays over 30 days booked at the full, non-discounted rate. Twice monthly and weekly housekeeping is also available for an additional cost.
Do you have a minimum length of stay?
Dwel primarily provides furnished accommodations for extended stays of 30 nights or longer. However, depending on the circumstances, we may be able to accommodate stays from 7-29 nights, subject to local restrictions and availability. Stays less than 30 nights are subject to additional taxes and fees.
Is smoking allowed in the apartment?
No. All Dwel apartments are 100% non-smoking and that includes balconies and common areas of the property. For more information, please see our full Terms and Conditions.
Do you allow pets? Is there an additional charge?
Yes, we love pets and are pet owners ourselves. There is a 2 pet maximum. In some cases, there are restrictions on weight, and in most cases, there are restrictions on aggressive breeds. Be sure to let us know what type of pet you have and we can provide all the details. Pet fees include a $500 non-refundable pet deposit and $3/night per pet additional fee.
How does billing work?
Billing is typically on a monthly basis, to be paid in advance, and includes any extra charges from the previous month. If you are paying by credit card, your account will automatically be charged at the beginning of each month and you will receive an invoice showing the specific charges. Payments by credit card may be subject to a processing fee.
Are taxes included?
Ah, the dreaded taxes. Taxes are not included in your rate and they do vary depending on the location of the property and length of stay. We will always disclose the tax amounts and breakdown prior to booking.
Do you offer direct billing to a company?
Yes. We offer direct billing to companies who have completed a credit application and have been approved for direct billing.
Is a credit card required even if the company is paying the bill?
Yes. Similar to a hotel, we require all guests to place a credit card on file to cover any incidental charges and/or damages that may occur.
